Produce Update

Both Honeydews and Rockmelons are in light supply which has seen prices increase this week. However watermelon remains the best value and is eating great at the moment.

USA Red Grapes have now hit the market and Green Grapes from Queensland have also returned. Please keep in mind that prices are high on both varieties to cover costs of importing and also due to the start of season. Prices will drop on Green Grapes once the season gets into full swing.

Believe it or not we are seeing the first lot of Kensington Pride Mangoes hitting the market due to the early start of the season in Darwin! The flavours are great but remember it’s still early days, so be prepared to pay a premium price.

Strawberry season is now well and truly in full swing. We are seeing great quality, vibrant colour and sweet tasting fruit. XL strawberries are on special this week for only $2.25 per punnet so take advantage while you can!

Cauliflowers are a thrifty buy again this week just $2.40 a head. Enjoy cauliflower roasted, grate to make cauliflower couscous/rice or cook and puree and serve as a mashed potato substitute, this tip is especially useful for a low kilojoule meal option.
