Stone Fruit Banner 1

Fresh market update: Wednesday 13th November - Tuesday 19th November 2019

Spring Has Sprung

This time of the year there are so many different varieties of fruit in season and tasting great.

Stone Fruit

Our stone-fruit is coming in from all parts of the Country including Queensland, South Australia and now just starting is our local fruit from the Swan Hill / Mildura region. As they enter the peak of the season the fruit will look brighter and have that sweet taste. Also don’t forget about Apricots and Plums which have just commenced.

Berries

This time of the year is a favourite for all berries varieties leading up till Christmas. Local Victoria Strawberries are eating beautifully and looking fabulous. Blueberries, Raspberries and now Blackberries are great addition to add to any favourite dish.

Citrus

Mandarin season has now finished up for another year. Our suggestion to customers that currently purchase these make the change over to stone fruit as a good alternative.
With our orange supply, we have fully changed over to the Valencia variety largely coming from the Riverina region.

Unfortunately

Riviera Fresh - our local grower of Pre Pack Dutch Carrot’s have informed us they currently have a gap in picking for up to two weeks. This will affect our supply of orange, purple and mixed colour in the pre pack range. We will however be able to supply all the varieties in bunches with tops on in the meantime.

Still great value

The vegetable that is still great value this week is the Asparagus. Grown locally in Victoria just outside of Melbourne, perfect weather has seen the value and quality stay steady now over the last month. Something to remember, apart from the green variety there is loose white Asparagus sold in 3kg boxes and also bunches of purple which can be purchased by the bunch.
