Market Report May 20th 2020

Fresh market update: Wednesday 20th - Tuesday 26th of May 2020
Product Report
This week we will recap on a few seasonal changes and give an update on our most popular produce.

Tomatoes With the Victorian season finished the Queensland growing season has begun, although slow at the moment. Small fruit is very hard to come by during this time. |
![]() |
Corn Corn is still a little high in price, especially out of Queensland, our local corn is somewhat cheaper but the quality is poor.
|

Grapes Much the same as last week, Red Seedless are the best buy. We are still able to get Thompson Green Grapes although some wholesalers have stopped supply. We will continue to monitor our quality daily and purchase only if we believe quality and supply are still reasonable. |

Strawberries Local fruit was decimated with hailstorms on the weekend, resulting in a big shortage of supply. The new season Queensland fruit has started but prices are extremely high, we will make a switch to this Queensland fruit shortly. |
Update on Popular ProduceAn update of what's in season and quality of our favourite fruit and veggies! |

Bananas Are good value with a lot of good quality fruit around. Packham Pears and Quinces Are at their peak with great, flavoursome fruit available. All grown locally in the Shepparton area. |

Berries Raspberries are a great buy this week, however Blueberries and Blackberries are getting short and prices remain high, this typically tends to happen this time of the year. |
![]() |
Broccoli and Cauliflowers Broccoli is at a more reasonable price point for this week, which is good considering the inconsistent weather we have had over the last week.
|
![]() |
Zucchini Zucchini supply has shortened considerably due to local crops finishing and interstate slowly trickling through with some back up from Swan Hill. Expect high prices for at least a week or two until volumes increase from up North. |

Cherries Cherries from the US have just started in the Market but prices are very high at the moment. |
![]() |
Melons Rockmelon and Honeydews have all increased in price as we move to Northern Queensland fruit. But the quality of this fruit is exceptional. |

Citrus Fruits Mandarins, Limes, Lemons and Australian Navels are in season, Blood Oranges have not started as of yet. |
![]() |
